Patchwork Kitchen: Redefining Contemporary East-Asian Dining In The Heart Of Boat Quay

In need of an all-rounded venue for all your meeting needs, whether it's for work or leisure? Well, a new bistro tucked away in Boat Quay has the answer.
The aptly named Patchwork Kitchen is a new modern East-Asian bistrot that overlooks the skyline of the Marina Bay, and offers guests a venue for a power lunch, wining and dining or everything in between.
The bistro has said it is built on the essence of what Singapore is, where the unique and diverse can celebrate differences and come together to make an even stronger whole.
Patchwork Kitchen's founder James Moon drew much inspiration from his own heritage and life. An American-born second-generation Korean, he grew up in the melting pot of Los Angeles with friends hailing from various ethnicities.
Now living in Singapore, Moon has called New York, Washington D.C., Bahrain, and Dubai home. With his travels and constant exposure to different cultures came a broad range of experiences in food and flavor.

Moon says that the name of the bistro can also be used to describe his life up to this current point.
He said: "When people ask me what my favorite food is, I tell them that I don’t have one as it always just depends on the mood I am in. Even though I’ve lived in America most of my life, I’ve always gravitated toward Asian flavors and how they can blend into any and all styles of cooking methods."

"I know that a contemporary Asian bistrot doesn’t really exist in Singapore, and people probably don’t even know what that means. I wanted to make sure that our category didn’t make people believe they would eat very traditional Asian food, or very traditional Western food. Maybe I just didn’t want Patchwork Kitchen to be categorized as Asian fusion so we just went with it.”
