Uriah Heep's Demons and Wizards was released today 19th May in the stellar year of 1972, and their 4th studio album.
Invergordon 45yo single grain Scotch whisky distilled in the same year of 1972. A single cask bottled at 49.6% abv. 🥃🥃
Uriah Heep was formed in London in 1969. Through their 50+ year career they have undergone numerous lineup change, with Mick Box being the only original member left.
Notably for this album, bassist Gary Thain, a Kiwi from Christchurch, joined the band, making up the so-called "classic line-up" of this band. He would die a few years later at age 27 of heroin overdose.
I saw Uriah Heep at the BB King Blues Club in New York back in 2012. The lineup then was Bernie Shaw, Mick Box, Phil Lanzon, Russell Gilbrook, and Trevor Bolder (who died the following year).
