Dunyvaig from the Silver Seal Whisky Company | Billy Joel Greatest Hits

Billy Joel BOTD 9th May in 1949. The Piano Man has not released any pop albums since 1993's River Of Dreams (I still remember this coming out when I was in Uni!). In spite of this he still sells out MSG and is set to play there again later this year.

“I’ve gone onstage and said, ‘I don’t have anything new for you, so we’re just going to play the old shit,’ ” “And the audience goes, ‘Yeah!’ I’ll be sitting in the stadium looking out at 30,000, 40,000, 50,000 people, thinking, ‘What the hell are they all doing here? Why now?’ I guess, in a way, I’m an anachronism. There aren’t that many of me left. There’s a rarity to it, which gives it value.” - Billy Joel

Dunyvaig from the Silver Seal Whisky Company. A 23yo Islay Single Malt. Having been to Islay, the name itself would suggest a Lagavulin, but there is nothing from nose, palate, and finish to confirm this. Nevertheless the good folks at @thegoodspirits.tgs tells me that it is indeed a Laga 🥃🥃 A lovely Islay dram.

Billy Joel's Innocent Man was the first few cassettes we bought in NZ back in 1983 and my first introduction to his music. Back then, Uptown Girl went all the way to No.1.
