Overall - The reason for trying this sake is purely because of the label design which reads like a “吉” which means luck in Chinese. The sake is quite unique as it is brewed by a female Toji, Michiko Urasato, which is still not common in 🇯🇵. First nose and the aroma is full of 🍒, 🍓, cotton candy with some hints of roasted almond. After tasting it, I can feel some aroma of chewing gum as well which reminds me of those days that chewing gum is still legal in 🇸🇬. Being a genshu 原酒, water is not added to the sake to reduce the alcohol %. However the alcohol is not on the high side just at 16% which is the average for normal sake. I would have thought that this sake was a little too sweet for me In the beginning but the medium umami balances it out. The medium body and length compliments the level of umaminess and makes it easy to pair with deep fried food or as an after dinner drink. I paired it with air fried chicken nuggets and tenggiri fish which I did not regret. The sake did make a good combination with them. Highly recommended for people who loves sake that is on the sweeter scale.
Overall, this is a good sake.
