Notes - Matsui Sake Brewery has been around for 300 years and have faced closure and revival a few times. Helmed by the current 15th generation, President Jiemon Matsui, they made local production for local consumption as their 1st priority and mainly use Kyoto produced “Iwai” and “Gohyakumangoku” 🌾.

Fresh and slightly tingling sensation on the tongue with fruity fragrance of 🍍 and 🍏 enveloping the whole mouth. Medium acidity with a slight spicy sensation and finishing off with a subtle bitterness. Although a Junmai, there isn’t much Junmai aroma or characteristics except for a tiny hint of fresh 🍚 fragrance which can only attribute to the superb brewing techniques of the brewers.

Kagura 🍶 are definitely my new discovery and go to and I hope to be able to review more of them in time to come. Although they are a small brewery but I think their 🍶 are really good and can match up to the big brands easily.
