Habitation Velier looks to be bottling a white rum from Distillerie de Port au Prince, the Haitian distillery jointly operated by the Barbancourt family, Velier and Vittorio Capovilla, established in 2017.

The distillery runs on a Muller still designed by Capovilla that takes on discontinuous distillation (which Barbancourt used up until 1992), running on fresh sugar cane pressed directly on site added to Cristalline sugar cane syrup rum the grand terroir of Saint Michel de l'Attalaye, and then fermented immediately.

Currently Distillerie de Port au Prince produces two key products under the Providence brand - First Drops and Dunder & Syrup.

The latest white rum expression bottled under Habitation Velier is 100% Pot Still Distillation using 100% Crystalline Sugar Cane, distilled in 2021, and bottled at 59% ABV. Currently the ester count is still unmarked.

Our Take

Looks like our Daiquiri's are going to get a nice upgrade. If this is anywhere like the Clarins Velier marketed, this will be an esterbomb! Excited!

Kanpai!
