Balter Brewers Hazy DC Aussie Hopped Hazy IPA x AC/DC Hells Bells

To balter is to dance artlessly without particular skill or grace but usually with enjoyment!

Back in Black song was released five months after lead singer Bon Scott died, the song is a tribute to Scott in the lyrics, "Forget the hearse 'cause I never die" that implys that he will live on forever through his music. With Brian Johnson on lead vocals, the Back In Black album proved that AC/DC could indeed carry on without Scott. The band got the idea for the title before writing any of the song, although Malcolm Young had the main guitar riff for years and used to play it frequently as a warm-up tune. After Bon Scott's death, Angus Young decided that their first album without him should be called Back In Black in tribute, and they wrote this song around that phrase and we are so glad they did!

Back to Balter! It’s also the name of the Gold Coast brewery opened by a quartet of Australian surfing legends and some mates, with a trophy-winning brewer at the helm to ensure that when it comes to the beers there’s style and grace as well as enjoyment. Friends and co-founders Joel Parkinson, Mick Fanning, Bede Durbidge and Josh Kerr were surfing in Hawaii when discussions moved to Bede’s long held dream of setting up a brewery in their Gold Coast hometown. So they did, with the assistance of co-founders Stirling Howland, Ant Macdonald and Sean Ronan. Soon former Stone & Wood and Byron Bay brewer Scotty Hargrave was brought on board to help them realise this dream. Obviously not a lot of thought went into this pairing but it's one hell of great tasting beer!
