Ain't There Nothing I Can Take?, Sour IPA, Pomona Island

Ain't There Nothing I Can Take? | Pomona Island
Sour IPA | ABV 6.5%

What's as lovely as a sour? A sour IPA! A lot of pulpy passionfruit on the nose, super fresh and juicy at first sip. I get citrusy hints of pineapple and kiwi - a slightly sweet and tangy profile maintained steadily throughout the beer. Reminds me of a fruit salad in a pint, so you know if you want a healthier digestive system, this beer is what you'll be looking for!

Weirdly enough, I get fluoride toothpaste (the classic one with the white-blue or white-green lollipop swirl), kind of creamy grassy-ness with spearmint backed by a pineapple tanghulu (sugar-coated). Kind of herbal...in a good subtle way. Big dill and coriander notes with sweet basil and crushed lime leaves - beautiful!

It's a nice sipping brew, not to be gulped down fast, even if you're trying to quench your thirst. I feel like this will go well with grilled squid over a charcoal fire smoked with alder wood, accompanied by a lil Thai chili sauce with fish oil. Wew!

Featured hop: Sorachi Ace 🤝🏼
