Timorous Beastie

Timorous beastie.
Douglas Laing's remarkable regional blend of highland malts, supposedly Dalmore, Glen Garioch, and Glengoyne (but some earlier postings say Blair Athol). Named in reference to the poem "To a Mouse", by Robert Burns.

Nose: slightly smoked honey, seems very sweet.

Palate: flavorless until it hit the back and rearsides of my tongue, spices, slight hint of wood. Thin is the keyword here.

Finish: moderately long, relatively smooth, mostly spice, wood that becomes more intense with time,.... 10 minutes later the spice appears.

Kind of boring actually, mostly fits the flavor profile of many other entry level whiskies in my opinion. Except the nose, the nose is nice. I didn't eat anything heavy or savory before this, so I'm confused at why the flavor profile is so un-beast-like, but quite timourous. Had this at Britons Protection, Manchester, UK in August 2017.
