Laphroaig 10yo, Original Cask Strength, Batch 9, 58.1% abv.
Nose: major grass, phenolic, some peat, a little bit of smoke. After a piece of chocolate, I can smell faint hints of corn.
Palate: strong, grass, salted ham, some peat. After a piece of chocolate, it's very sweet and salty, spiced wood.
Finish: strong, sweet smoke permeates the mouth. After a piece of chocolate, it's very sweet and salty.
What an interesting batch, I expected intense peat and smoke, but got major grass and salted ham! After a piece of chocolate the juice is quite sweet and smokey.
