Woodford Reserve Stirs Up Singapore with Old Fashioned Month & Bartending Competition

Woodford Reserve is an iconic bourbon hailing from the heart of Kentucky. This October and November, they're bringing the heat to Singapore with their Old Fashioned Month celebrations and events. Old Fashioned Month is a global event that started as Old Fashioned Week in Paris back in 2015.

Woodford Reserve is pulling out all the stops with their "Wonderful Race" bartending competition, exclusive Old Fashioned promotions, and even a Global Bartender Exchange.

The Wonderful Race 2024 has already seen some stiff competition, whittling down a talented pool of mixologists to just 10 finalists. These finalists, representing 10 different bars, have proven their creativity and talent with imaginative takes on the Old Fashioned. There is a mix of both well-established cocktail havens like Analogue Initiative and Republic Bar alongside newer names like KOMYUNITI and Bar Bon Funk

From now until November, you can head down to these bars and sample the unique Old Fashioned variations they've dreamt up for the competition.

But the real showdown happens on November 3rd at the grand final. These top 10 bartenders will go head-to-head, shaking and stirring their way to impress a panel of industry veterans and Woodford Reserve representatives. The national champion will win a trip to the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky and the opportunity to represent the brand at regional events.

Finalists include Kelvin Saquilayan (Republic Bar) and Danny Vyna (Analogue Initiative)

If you're looking to get in on the Old Fashioned action sooner, you're in luck. On 19th October, Woodford Reserve is taking over Enclave, Pocket Rocket, Parliament, and Alegria. Expect a lively atmosphere with DJs spinning tunes, tarot readings to predict your cocktail destiny, and even photoshoots to capture your best Old Fashioned moments. And of course, there will be specially-priced Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned cocktails to enjoy throughout the night.

The excitement doesn't stop there. On 1st November, Origin Bar will host a takeover featuring French bartenders Hyacinthe Lescoët & Nikoloas Ofidis from The Cambridge Public House in Paris. The Cambridge Public House is a serious player on the global bar scene, currently ranked No. 32 on The World’s 50 Best Bars list. These talented mixologists will be serving up exclusive cocktails, giving Singaporeans a taste of Parisian flair. To return the favour, Origin Bar will then head over to The Cambridge Public House in Paris on 14th November, showcasing Singapore's own cocktail scene on the Parisian stage.

With all these events and promotions, Woodford Reserve is certainly making a splash in Singapore this Old Fashioned Month. Whether you're a seasoned cocktail connoisseur or simply enjoy a well-made drink, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
