Notes - Realized I have not reviewed Ohmine 🍶 for quite sometime and finally managed to get a bottle of their 2 Grain Aiyama. This is a pasteurized Genshu (no addition of 💦 to dilute the 🍶) at alcohol 14.5% which is lower than the usual Genshu of 16-18%. Guess this is the modern trend for 🍶 where breweries are trying to lower the alcohol % to that of wine to try and appeal to health conscious consumers. Brewed with Benten no Yusui, this 🍶 is exceptionally smooth and delicate in the mouth with lots of ginjo aroma and bursting with fruity freshness. This 🍶 is just so easy to handle and will generally appeal to most 🍶 lovers including the most discerning ones.
With such a soft and gentle texture, you really need to pair it with fresh sashimi or clams which include 🦑, hamaguri clams, 🦀 with dashi jelly and even grilled herring 🐠. I love how the 🍶 enhanced the natural sweetness of the seafood making the flavor more intense and explosive in the mouth and providing yet another level of dining experience that one couldn’t have imagine.
Ohmine has proven themselves again and again in their brewing capabilities be it 2 Grain or 3 Grain and have never failed to amazed me with their seasonal 🍶 as well. Splendid work. 🎆🎆🎆
