Overall - Finally my 1st bottle of Jikon sake. Seen so many Japanese people posting on IG of Jikon and have been wanting to get a bottle but Jikon is not easily available in SG. Luckily managed to try one while having dinner at Himonoya. This bottle is made of Asahi rice which is also a new experience for me. The aroma is medium intensity with lots of different fruits like 🥝 , 🍏 and 🍑. With all the fruit like aroma, the sake is on the medium sweet side. With a low umami and medium taste, it really brings out the fruitiness of this sake and makes you want to drink more. The light body and medium length makes it smooth and not overpowering on the throat. Easy enough to drink and a good bottle as a starter to a night of long dinner and more drinks. I had it with starters like chicken nanban with tartar sauce, 🍟 with seaweed seasoning and that bottle is gone in no time. Also this sake is recommended to drink at 10-12C to take advantage of the fruity aroma. Just a suggestion for people who always goes for Dassai, give Jikon a try and you might be surprise by the taste.
Overall, this is a very good sake. 👍
