Whisky Festival Osaka 2023 will be held on 18th June at the ATC Hall, which will likely draw huge crowds, exciting masterclasses, but you also know what that means - festival bottles!
This year's participants will be treated to 7 commemorative Scotch bottlings, all cask strength and all single cask expressions:
- Benriach 2014, 6 Years Old, 59.8% ABV - Limited to 204 bottles
- Mannochmore 2007, 12 Years Old, 55.4% ABV - Limited to 180 bottles
- Ardmore 2010, 11 Years Old, 57.5% ABV - Limited to 120 bottles
- Benrinnes 2008, 13 Years Old, 59.2% ABV - Limited to 120 bottles
- Loch Lomond 2010, 11 Years Old, 62.7% ABV - Limited to 310 bottles
- Tamnavulin 2009, 12 Years Old, 55.0% ABV - Limited to 225 bottles
- Glen Scotia Peated 2010, 10 Years Old, 55.8% ABV - Limited to 266 bottles
The Glover Collection is named after Thomas Glover, whose son Tomisaburo Kuraba had created 801 fish charts in commemoration of.
Aside from the 7 commemorative Scotch bottlings, the festival will also see three festival select Japanese spirits bottlings:
- Osuzu Malt Chestnut Barrel 2019, "Our Local Barley", Osuzuyama, 3 Years Old, 59% ABV - Limited to 130 bottles
- Eigashima 2019, 3 Years Old, 61% ABV - Limited to 250 bottles
- Chichibu 2016, 7 Years Old, 64% ABV - Limited to 130 bottles
For those attending, also look out for the special collaborative bottling between five of Japan's major whisky distillers - Suntory, Nikka, Mars, Fuji and Chichibu, who have swapped malt whisky stocks to each create their own themed blend under the name "100 Years Project - Fellow Distillers".
