Komoro Unveils First Look At Distillery's Debut Japanese Single Malt Komoro Origin

Komoro Distillery has unveiled its debut Japanese single malt, KOMORO ORIGIN, marking a foundational milestone for the producer.
Shaped by Komoro’s high-altitude microclimate and precision distillation, the maiden bottling will also establish the core style for the distillery's ongoing single malt portfolio.
The bottle incorporates the distillery’s signature Three Rings motif, while the label features the Komoro Violet.
Inspired by the violet’s symbolic humility and sincerity, the distillery’s says its production ethos balances inherited craft with nature-driven innovation. This mindset extends directly to the packaging design, which is said to mirror the care, integrity, and restraint applied across every stage of the whisky-making process.
Komoro Distillery adds that it builds its whiskies around a core balance of fruit character, oak integration, and mouthfeel. Depth, complexity, and structural integrity are established through four core production pillars: Craftsmanship, deep understanding of nature, dedication to casks and maturation, and a distinctly Japanese sense of aesthetics.
From Nov 7 to 15, Komoro Distillery will host First Release Week to celebrate the launch of KOMORO ORIGIN. The weeklong event features dedicated installations and tasting experiences focused on the debut whisky's craftsmanship and flavor profile.
Alongside masterclasses led by Master Blender Ian Chang, Chief Educator Eddie Ludlow will host two exclusive sessions in Japan: "Whisky Basics" and "Sherry 2," exploring sherry cask maturation and Komoro's distinct style. All sessions will feature English instruction with Japanese interpretation.
The experience will also feature a red-and-white daifuku pairing co-created with Akafuku's confectionery brand, Isuzu Chaya. Infused with Komoro Distillery spirit and Shinshu apples, the custom sweets are crafted to complement KOMORO ORIGIN's profile.
Bottle purchases will be in accordance to specific event tickets purchased:
