Speyside Distillery Craigellachie is launching a limited edition 37 Year Old single malt Scotch matured in refill casks and finished in first-fill bourbon casks.
The new expression was crafted by Bacardi's malt master Stephanie Macleod. MacLeod said: “Slumbering in refill casks for more than three decades has really allowed for Craigellachie’s challenging distillery style to shine through. The pineapple flavour note Craigellachie is so well known for has aged beautifully.
“Finishing in first-fill casks – one of the most influential types of cask, in terms of their contribution to the flavour – has bestowed notes of creamy coconut, vanilla and citrus to the aged malt, giving it a boost of indulgent complexity.”
