Clase Azul To Finish Tequila In Champagne Casks In Latest Día de Muertos Edición Limitada Trascender Release

Clase Azul has unveiled the Clase Azul Tequila Día de Muertos Edición Limitada Trascender, containing Tequila finished in ex-Champagne casks.

The latest in its Día de Muertos editions, the new release follows the conclusion of a five-year series entitled Nuestros Recuerdos, which explored the sensory aspects of Mexico’s Día de Muertos celebrations.

Signaling a new creative direction for the house, the Trascender presents an extra añejo tequila aged for over 30 months, and finished in a dual maturation of American whiskey barrels and Champagne French oak casks.

The Tequila is thus said to present buttery aromas and notes of toasted nuts and freshly baked bread.

Further tasting notes for the expression promise ripe pears, agave nectar, cacao nibs, toasted walnuts and subtle acidity.

The expression is presented in a hand-painted decanter designed by the brand's Creative Director Sofía Ortiz.

The release is limited to 10,000 one litre ceramic decanters and are available worldwide at an MSRP of £2,000, US$2,000 and €2,000 across all markets.

Clase Azul Tequila Día de Muertos Edición Limitada Trascender is now available in the UK at select luxury retailers, including Selfridges and Berry Bros. & Rudd.
