Been waiting to open this BreWskey anniversary beer for a long time. One of my first ever beer hauls in North America. This one is a really unique stout and barleywine blend aged in bourbon barrels. Mild soy sauce, subtle dark fruits and barrel notes in the background, aroma is not very intense overall. Texture is not typical of a BA stout/barleywine, it's not as oily as you expect and is mildly carbonated. Subtle notes of barleywine dark fruits mixed with roasted malty, chocolate notes, barrel notes are not the most prominent too. Just mildly sweet, with some saltiness?
Gets better as it warms, dark fruits get more prominent.
