Easy-going quadrupel. Now, that’s something you won’t hear every day. Pannepeut’s 10% ABV is well hidden amidst its classic Belgian flavours of stone fruit and caramel.
That’s not all there is to Pannepeut, of course: it was excellent paired with some double cream brie that I’d picked up at Cold Storage; I don’t think it’d stand up to something aggressive like a blue cheese, though.
Hearing that De Struise brewed this as a tribute to their Dutch customers, I feel inspired to revisit an old Dutch favourite next: La Trappe Quadrupel!
