Beer Reviews

Dainton Beer Kong Juice x Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction

The next pick for the beer has on the live hunt for an awesome brew for an awesome brew. Thanks to @pennyyoung_liquor we really found an epic brew for this brilliant album, but more about that later.
The album we’ve picked is the debut album for @gunsnroses, “Appetite For Destruction”. Released on July 21, 1987 and without huge amounts of critical positivity and mainstream attention in the first six months. Oh boy, once it got rolling it just keep rolling and getting more and more popular. In 1988, the band toured for 16 months around the world, topping the Billboard 200 chart and going on to sell over 30 million copies in the process, one of about 30 or so albums to sell that many copies of more.
"Back Off Bitch", "You Could Be Mine", "November Rain" and "Don't Cry" were all considered for the album, with “November Rain” being left off because "Sweet Child 'O Mine" was going to be put on album, giving it a ballad already.
The band tried out a few different producers and even discussed using Paul Stanley from @kissonline, before settling on Mike Clink, who has also worked with Whitesnake, Metallica, Motley Crue and Megadeath.
There are albums that don’t have any weak songs, but there are really not a lot of albums that full of truly amazing songs. Seriously every song we hear on this album we are amazed by; even 34 years after it’s release. The vocals being delivered by Axl Rose and Duff McKagan are just the best. The fact that @kerrangmagazine_ rated “Anything Goes” as the worst song on the album says a lot about the brilliant tracks on the album.
Now for the beer, and an album this epic needs something just as Epic. Our trip to @pennyoung_liquor landed absolute gold. The beer we’ve found is the totally perfect “Kong Juice” from @dainton.beer. The liner notes for this beer say “Legends tells of a primitive beast that lurks deep in the heart of the jungle.” That beast has this album cranking with this brew, and together we were welcomed to the Jungle.
