Clynelish 23, 1974-1988, Rare Malts Selection, Bottle No. 0204, 59.1% abv.

The original Clynelish distillery was renamed to Brora and a little afterwards a new distillery was built near Brora and named Clynelish. So apparently there were Clynelish A and Clynelish B. Do you know how to pronounce "Clynelish", because I still don't.

Nose: a little smokey, light toast, fruits and related sweet aromas, floral, the aromas are potent as even when my nose is at a distance, the aromas are still present.

Palate: thick, full bodied, initial palate is honey, mid palate is super honey, back palate has some sherry elements of dried fruit, old wood, wet old steamed lotus leaves, tree roots, abv spice.

Finish: sweet and spicey, medium levels od smoke, tree roots, abv spice.

Many of these rare malts selection bottlings have been super impressive. I gotta admit, I'm not the biggest Clynelish/Brora fan out there... I seriously don't taste the "waxiness" or "greatness" that many people do, but I am genuinely impressed with this one.
