This "newborn" used Braemar non-peated barley and was matured in a bourbon barrel for ~1 year and then matured again in a new american oak hogshead for ~4-5 months from June to October 2009. Is the indicted cask number is the last cask?
Nose: moderate sherry but wet old steamed lotus leaves/expired sherry.
Palate: smooth, mid palate is very sweet, brown sugar, molasses
Finish: short, extremely sweet-brown sugar type.
Very good for new make. Not sure if the expired sherry flavor profile is because the whisky is too young or too old.
