Bowmore 23, Port Cask Matured, 1989-2013, 12,000 bottles, 50.8% abv.

Nose: light sweetness, light raisins which get steonger with time. Honey and butter reveal themselves as well.

Palate: good body, sweet, mid palate has hints of wet old steamed lotus leaves, back palate is raisins and wet old steamed lotus leaves.

Finish: short to moderate, honey residue like a grounded loquat medicine.

It's a an ok dram, there's this flavor that is in between wet old steamed lotus leaves/expired sherry and some sort of loquat type. Not sure if it's because I had several higher abv pours before this, or if the pour needed an hour air time for the abv to evaporate. Port matured or port finished types are so hard, prefer the Brodir series better. I could see how this dram is more for smokers though.

Grade: C+
