Sago House Celebrates A New Chapter With October Bar Collabs

Having won a spate of awards since it opened in 2020, including the recent 10th spot in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023 and the Michter’s Hospitality Award, Sago House will now bid farewell to its original Sago Street location 😢 and transition to a brand-new Duxton venue in November.

Emerging during the challenging times of the 2020 lockdown in Singapore, Sago House was the brainchild of three seasoned professionals: Desiree Jane Silva (formerly of 28 HongKong Street and EC Proof), Jay Gray and George Abishek (known for their work at Spiffy Dapper and other venues). The bar's interior was crafted mostly by hand, using a whopping 80% of upcycled materials. The offerings are based on six classic cocktail styles, but the drinks menu changes weekly, depending on what's fresh and available in local markets.

And if you're feeling a bit hungry, their steak sandwich is a treat that makes the three-flight stair climb to the bar totally worth it.

Coinciding with the week of The World's 50 Best Bars' inaugural ceremony in Singapore on 17th October, Sago House has a series of special events lined up. They're offering a unique opportunity for patrons to get a first look at their new space through several guest shifts, as well as a range of events at their original spot.

Described as one of the most sublimely casual drinking destinations in DC, Service Bar from Washington DC is 33rd on the list of North America's 50 Best Bars and makes a number of whimsical drinks including the Italian Bubble Coat (gin, eucalyptus-infused Maraschino, clarified citrus, concord grape).
