Cat Bite Club's New Masterclasses Will Make You An Agave & Rice Spirit Expert: Singapore 2024

Cat Bite Club is at it again! You know the new joint that has turned heads late last year with its eclectic focus on agave spirits and rice-based spirits. They specialise in agave spirits that encompass the world of tequila and its smoky, slightly wild cousin, mezcal. As for the rice side, think soju, shochu, and even some varieties of that potent Chinese spirit, baijiu.

The bar's founders, Gabriel Lowe and Jesse Vida, are seasoned veterans of the bartending scene, boasting over 15 years of experience under their belts. They honed their craft in some of the world's top tier cocktail cities - San Francisco, New York, Bangkok, and of course, Singapore. This experience is what led them to fall in love with agave spirits early on in their careers in California. Upon moving to Asia in 2018, they saw a similar potential waiting to be tapped in traditional Asian spirits. Thus, Cat Bite Club was born, a place to celebrate these under-appreciated but beautiful spirits.

Now, they're taking the "drink-and-learn" concept a step further with their new Agave La and Rice Academy masterclasses. Each masterclass dives deep into either agave or rice spirits, offering a world of flavours, production techniques, and cocktail possibilities. Think technical discussions, a bit of history, and insider tips on what to mix these spirits with.

Each 45-minute session features a flight of four agave spirits or rice spirits expertly curated by the bar, and a few bar bites to go with them.

Another fun part: finish a masterclass and you'll get a personalised Certificate of Completion badge! It's like joining an insider's club of spirits lovers. Membership to the club unlocks exclusive access to special events, product launches, and more - a great way to keep that spirit-loving flame alive.

These masterclasses are all about celebrating the craftsmanship behind agave and rice spirits – their cultural weight and rich history. It's educational, sure, but in true Cat Bite Club style, you can expect some good-natured geekery and plenty of tasty experiences.

Available for groups of 2 to 8, Agave La and Rice Academy sessions cost S$75++ per person and run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 5 - 8 pm.

Reach out to the team via email to make your reservations. The Club is tucked away behind a discrete entrance, but look for that glowing mischievous Cheshire cat grin and you'll know you're in!
