Notes - Was invited by Alex of @omunomu.sg to attend his craft sake and doburoku event last Friday which features many interesting doburoku by @konohanano_brewery. Had 2 glasses of those yummy doburoku (have started enjoying doburoku since I’m back from 🇯🇵) but forgotten to take pictures of those. Decided is time to move on to my usual “poison” and this bottle of Nabeshima caught my attention as it is not always easy to find Nabeshima 🍶 in restaurants in 🇸🇬. Was told this is a seasonal new year 🍶 “春酒” and also brewed with a 🌾 that I have never come across, Tajima Goriki 🌾 which makes this 🍶 all the more interesting.

This 🍶 is clean and crisp on the palate with lots of ginjo notes and flowery scent and layers of complexity as it hits the different parts of your mouth and throat. Medium acidity with a bitter aftertaste and a hint of spiciness after every sip. Food pairing was with the amazing Zensai “前菜“ from @omunomu.sg which includes the Renkon Chips (lotus root), Flamed Edamame, Ei Hire, Garlic Sake Hamaguri and the very interesting Tuna Tartare which is served with crackers and 🧅 rings. The medium dry texture of the 🍶 helps to cleanse the palate and also goes really well with the umami laden food.

Truly another excellent 🍶 from 1 of my favorite brand. 💥💥💥
