It's no secret that we're big fans of the Thompson Bros over at Dornoch. And it's also no secret that all these years, whilst the brothers have been plugging away hard at work bottling some amazing juice under their independent bottling brand Thompson Bros, as well as getting down to producing their own Scotch whiskies, many of which have now been bottled, uncorked and enjoyed, they've also been gradually working on expanding into a full-sized distillery of their own - and it seems like after securing all the permits and getting on with construction, we now have a veritable milestone.

Say Struie!

Pronounced Stroo-ee, the new distillery name was as the brothers elaborated, named after Struie Hill which is in view from the distillery when looking southwest.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the latest milestone in our distillery journey with you!

After countless discussions, careful consideration, and a truly democratic vote, we have finally chosen the perfect name—one that reflects the spirit of our new venture and the land it calls home in Dornoch South."

Yet, before we all go too hard on celebrating this new milestone, the distillery is not fully up and operational yet, and the brothers continue to be taking on crowdfunding, with the first round having gone well so far.
