The Glenlivet has unveiled The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Provence Edition, a new limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky inspired by the sunny landscapes, vibrant flavors, and refined lifestyle of the French region.
The expression is selectively finished in a bespoke wood profile of Château Sainte Marguerite white wine, Rivesaltes, and Sauternes casks. The casks are said to improve on The Glenlivet's classic smooth baseline with delicate floral aromatics and ripe orchard fruit.
It is said to boast bright notes of white peach, nectarine, pear, and citrus with a mellow finish of lingering sun-ripened fruit.
To mark the release, The Glenlivet is launching Le Café du Whisky, an immersive pop-up concept bringing a "Wee Taste of Provence" to key markets alongside national bookable activations.
Designed to evoke the lifestyle of Southern France, these experiences invite guests to explore the new expression through curated regional pairings, sensory elements, and atmosphere.
Debuting in New York City, Le Café du Whisky showcases a exclusive culinary collaboration with acclaimed pastry chef Michelle Palazzo of Frenchette Bakery, who has reimagined the classic French pastry through a joint Provençal and Scottish lens to create the signature Tarte aux Pêches.
The Tarte aux Pêches features a vanilla bean custard infused with the Single Malt Scotch Whisky and topped with a rosette of juicy peaches. Its lush fruit character is said to echo the liquid's notes of white peach, nectarine, pear, and bright citrus
The signature cocktail for the activation, the Provençal Spritz, will also offer guests a crisp, refreshing application of the single malt. The serve aims to accentuate the Provence Edition's vibrant citrus and orchard fruit notes, underscoring the whisky's versatility across highball serves, neat pours, and traditional rocks presentation.
