The GlenAllachie Explores Dual Cask Maturation for Second Sinteis Series Release

The Glenallachie has announced a new release that will join its Sinteis Series: The GlenAllachie Sinteis Part ll, 2015 Scottish Virgin Oak & Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured.
Gaelic for "synthesis", the aptly named Sinteis Series explores a dual cask approach to maturation.
This time, the Sinteis Part II expression was matured in both oloroso sherry casks and Scottish new oak casks. The distillery claims this process allows drinkers to "discover the untapped potential" of new oak.
Billy Walker, The GlenAllachie's master distiller, has described the new whiskey as boasting notes of vanilla, honeycomb, and mocha from the new oak, and warm spice and fruit notes from the oloroso sherry cask.
The brand promises a nose with notes of mocha, grilled honeycomb and sun-dried red berries, cinnamon butter, toasted lemon peel and muscovado sugar.

On the palate, it is said to have heather honey, citrus and warmed baking spices, followed by gingersnaps and poached orchard fruits, with mocha and vanilla buttercream on the finish.
The whisky follows Sinteis Part I, a 2014 Chinquapin & PX Cask Matured whisky released in April 2025.
The GlenAllachie Sinteis Part ll, 2015 Scottish Virgin Oak & Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured is bottled at 58.2% ABV. It is now available for £73.99 on the distillery's website, with a global release planned for the coming weeks.
