Old Forester's 117 Series has been the Bourbon-maker's little experimental lab series where it's debut small batches of its test runs, giving us not just a somewhat more quirky take on the beloved Old Forester, but also an inside look into the angles that its distilling team explores in better shaping and understanding its Bourbon.

And so this time we have the Old Forester 117 Series Triple Char which will feature barrels that were charred for 3x as long as the standard Old Forester barrel!

According to Old Forester,

Charring barrels allow for complex flavor development. The barrels used to craft this small batch were charred three times as long as the standard Old Forester barrel profile. This exceptional depth of char delivers a rich, robust flavor profile.

The new Old Forester 117 Series Triple Char is thus due for release in July 2026, and will feature a 115 Proof (57.5% ABV)
