Oban Sees New Cask Strength 15 Year Old Finished In Oloroso & Palo Cortado Sherry
Scotch distillery Oban looks to be releasing a new Exclusive Release of a 15 Year Old Cask Strength single malt, finished in Oloroso and Palo Cortado Sherry casks.
Just last year, Oban had released something similar, with the Oban Young Teddy that too was finished in the same Oloroso and Palo Cortado Sherry casks - the expression was the second in a series that sought to celebrate the legacy of the MacLean family at the Oban Distillery.
This new release, bottled at 55.3% ABV (110.6 Proof), is said to carry the following tasting notes, and is said to deliver a full-bodied taste with layers of dried fruit, rich spices, and subtle maritime notes.
Official Tasting Notes
Aroma: Sweet dried fruit, hints of orange zest, and warm oak.
Taste: Rich with flavors of dark chocolate, sherry-soaked
raisins, and a touch of nutmeg.
Finish: Long, warming finish with lingering spice and a touch of sea salt.
Kanpai!
