Nikka Hands Over The Master Blender Torch With Nikka Limited 2025

Nikka has announced the release of a new Nikka Limited that signifies the handing of the torch as the new expression has been created by Nikka Whisky's new and former Master Blenders.

The Nikka Limited 2025 expression was made by both former Chief Blender Hiromi Ozaki, who last served at Miyagikyo Distillery in Sendai, as well as new Chief Blender Junji Iseki, who has since helmed the Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido. It is said to symbolise a preservation of Nikka's blending techniques.

The blend comes housed in the iconic Nikka decanter, this time with a matt black aesthetic complete with a black bottle and black washi paper label that was chosen to evoke the profound art of blending where many whisky components of past and present are intertwined.

The Nikka Limited 2025 blend includes whiskies from Japanese distilleries Miyagikyo and Yoichi, as well as the Moji Distillery and Satsuma Tsukasa Distillery in Kyushu, along with aged malt whiskies from Ben Nevis Distillery, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year.

The expression is said to express a harmonious blend of fruity sweetness, bitter flavours reminiscent of dark chocolate and fragrant casks, with a gentle richness of peat and a sweet finish. It comes in at 48% ABV.

A total of 8,000 bottles will be released, with 4,000 bottles to stay in Japan and 4,000 bottles headed overseas. It will go on sale from 5th November 2025 at the recommended price of 150,000 Yen (US$1,017.30).
