And just like that Kanosuke announced that it would make a new IPA Cask Finish single malt expression available only via the Kagoshima-based Japanese distillery's online shop, adding one more new cask finish style to its already vibrant repertoire!

Called a citrus-filled collaboration of craft whisky and craft beer, the latest Kanosuke IPA Cask Finish single malt is a limited edition small batch that centers around its Recharred Shochu Cask matured malt whisky component that was then finished in two types of Double IPA casks, that is said to have brought a powerful hoppiness to Kanosuke's otherwise rich and deep flavour.

The two Double IPA's were further specially selected for their contrasting flavour profiles, with one said to be heavier and the other lighter, which together would impart notes of honey and lime to Kanosuke's richer and mellow flavour, which is further amplified by an accent of cinnamon from the Recharred Shochu casks that combines sweetness with the bitterness of the hops to deliver a completely striking flavour profile.

The new Kanosuke IPA Cask Finish is bottled at 48% ABV and priced at 11,550 Yen (US$72.70).
