Hong Kong's Bar Leone Defends Title As Asia's Best Bar: Results from Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025

The results for Asia's Top 50 Best Bars are out! And among that coveted list, Bar Leone from Hong Kong has defended its position for the second year running, having clinched the coveted title of The Best Bar in Asia and The Best Bar in Hong Kong.

The results were unveiled at the live awards ceremony for Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 yesterday in Macau, hosted in collaboration with destination  partners Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.

Bar Leone made 50 Best history last year by being the first-ever establishment to debut on the list at No.1 and as The Best Bar in Asia, as well as clinching the No. 2 position on the larger list of The World’s 50 Best Bars.

The joint is owned and operated by Lorenzo Antinori, whose previous stints include the acclaimed Argo and now defunct Dandelyan (The World’s Best Bar 2018). It boasts a menu featuring a carefully curated selection of classic cocktails, some elevated with simple yet intriguing twists, all while staying true to its identity as a neighbourhood bar.

Inspired by the lively bars Antinori grew up with in Rome's Trastevere district, the spot features wood-panelled walls adorned with football memorabilia and vintage Italian posters, blending laid-back charm with effortless chic.

This year's list also featured bars from 20 cities across Asia, including 20 new entries. Among the newcomers are G.O.D from Bangkok (26th), Carrot Bar from Jakarta (34th) , Cat Bite Club from Singapore (44th), and most notably Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, also from Bangkok, which debuted at an impressive No.5 while clinching the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award.

Bangkok did exceptionally well this year with seven bars on the list, the highest number in the list.  On the other hand, several Singapore bars that featured on the top 50 list last year fell into the extended 51-100 list.
