Historic Jamaican Rum Maker Appleton Estate Brings A New Spanish Sherry Finish

Jamaica's Appleton Estate appears to be readying a new Cask Collection series with a special focus on Spanish Sherry finishing, of course using casks from Jerez, Spain, the home of Sherry.

The rum is first aged in ex-Bourbon casks before their Oloroso Sherry finishing.

The new expression is said to be rich and spicy, and is bottled at 40% ABV.

The back label tells us the following:

Carefully aged in No. 1 American white oak Bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso sherry casks from the renowned region of Jerez, Spain. This rum reveals notes of dried fruits and honey, wrapped around subtle vanilla and citrus, and finishes with toasted nuts and tobacco.

Crafted to enjoy in elevated cocktails or to sip neat. Our rums, aged entirely in the tropical climate of Jamaica, are crafted with Jamaican limestone-filtered water, with no added flavours.
