Gordon & MacPhail Unveils Final Talisker, 39 Year Old Single Malt For Connoisseurs Choice
Gordon & MacPhail (G&M) has released a 39-year-old whisky that will also be its last Talisker bottling in its Connoisseurs Choice range.
As a Diageo distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker rarely grants naming rights to independent bottlers, making vintage G&M releases highly prized rarities.
This exceptional single cask represents a final farewell rather than a standard continuation. After a multi-decade absence from the Connoisseurs Choice range, this bottling permanently closes the chapter on G&M's Talisker releases.
Launched in 1968 to highlight single malts normally reserved for blending, G&M’s Connoisseurs Choice range has featured over 2,000 whiskies from nearly 100 distilleries. This latest release honors that legacy by reviving the original, distinctive red-on-black label design.
In 2020, G&M announced that it would cease filling casks with new make spirit from distilleries it did not own in 2024, instead focusing on running its Benromach distillery in Speyside and The Cairn distillery in the Highlands.
The expression comes in at 51.4% ABV and has an MSRP of £1,250 (US$1,670) per 700ml bottle. Just 451 bottles will be available worldwide.
