Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Collaboration Births Exclusive 16 Year Old Expression

Esteemed malt meets esteemed wheels as Glenfiddich throttles up into its new collaboration with the Aston Martin Formula One Team to produce the Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch.

Brian Kinsman, the malt master for Glenfiddich, said that regardless of whisky or cars, the two disciplines were “united by a deep respect for craftsmanship, whether it’s the meticulous aging of a single malt whisky or the precision engineering of a high-performance car. Each demands vision, skill, and an uncompromising attention to detail, which result in creations that inspire passion and invite exploration.”

The exclusive, long-term partnership between the two industry heavyweights began last November at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The brand touts this experience to be an intricate, complex affair. The whisky within is aged in a mix of new American oak, second-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and American oak wine casks. As you might have noted, it’s a rare Glenfiddich expression matured entirely in American oak.

The whisky is said to have a rich and sweet nose, a silky, syrupy mouthfeel and a smooth, sweet finish. Notes within include but are not limited to fresh fruit salad, Chantilly cream, a signature Glenfiddich character of juicy ripe fruit and cask influenced vanilla toffee sweetness.

Bottled at 43% ABV, this exclusive release has an MSRP of USD$75. Glenfiddich promises that the 16 Year Old is but a first in a long series in its collaboration with the iconic British automaker.
