You know what they say, you don't turn 200 years old everyday!
And so everyone's favourite Glendronach Distillery is celebrating by paying homage to their spiritual home where it all began - the Boynsmill House! The historic house sits at the center of Glendronach Distillery, and was where founder James Allardice had laid the foundation for the pioneer in Sherry cask ageing!
Today, the distillery is loved by more folks than ever, from all around the world, and is led by Master Blender Rachel Barrie.
Fun Fact: Glendronach's single malts are filled right away into Sherry casks where they start their ageing, as opposed to the more common use of Sherry casks for only a short stay of finishing.
And so to commemorate, the Glendronach Boynsmill House Edition will see a 14 Year Old single malt that's been aged in the distillery's signature Oloroso and PX Sherry casks, before then being further aged in Claret red wine casks.

"In celebration of our 200th anniversary, we invite you back to the time of our foundation in 1826, to Boynsmill House, at the heart of The Glendronach Distillery. It was a time when our founder, James Allardice, was known for entertaining the most discerning gentry with his charismatic charm. In homage, this exclusive 14-year-old expression has been matured in our signature Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. To complement, Master Blender Rachel Barrie has additionally selected Claret red wine casks, adding delightful fruit-filled layers to our signature rich and robust character."
