Four Roses Begins Anthology Series With Oldest To Date 21 Year Old Barrel Strength In Chapter 1 Origin

In what appears to be the most aged Four Roses to date, Four Roses is inaugurating its new Anthology series that will tell the story of Four Roses. Distilled in 2001, the 2026 release of the Four Roses Anthology Chapter 01 Origin is a 21 year old barrel strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

"When our founder, Paul Jones Jr., proposed to his Southern belle, she wore a corsage of four red roses to signal her 'Yes.' This gesture inspired the name Four Roses and a legacy of passion that continues to this day."

This appears to be the oldest Four Roses till date at 21 Year Old, with only the 135th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch featuring 25 Year Old Bourbon that was only a component in the blend that also included 12 Year Old, 14 Year Old and 16 Year Old components. Previously the Four Roses 2019 Limited Edition Small Batch had also featured a 21 Year Old component, blended together with 11 Year Old and 15 Year Old components. And thus the Four Roses Anthology Chapter 1 Origin comes in as the oldest with a 21 Year Old age statement that guarantees that the youngest Bourbon contained has to be at least 21 years old.

The first release from the Four Roses Anthology series will feature the OESO recipe, which corresponds to Mashbill E (75% Corn, 20% Rye and 5% Barley) and Yeast O, which is said to deliver fruity red berries with a medium body.

It appears that just 400 bottles of the inaugural Four Roses Chapter 1 Origin will be released, and is indicatively bottled at 100 Proof / 50% ABV (note that as labels are indicative, distilleries on occasion state a nominal ABV that may be subject to changes later on).
