Everyone's favorite Finnish rye distillery has unveiled a new addition to its Sauna Stories Series: The Kyrö Sauna Stories No. 2 Apricot Brandy Cask Finish.

This 100% rye malt whisky is aged in American white oak barrels and then finished in French Oak Apricot Brandy casks. The most unique part of its creation, however, lies in the final step, where it's finished in a sauna. The barrels are heated to 50°C with steam left over from the distillation in said sauna, a method that is said to complete the maturation process in a truly distinctive way.

The aroma is said to be sweet, with strong notes of apricot, exotic wood, vanilla, rye and malt. The palate is rich, dry and with distinct spicy rye overtones, not to mention strong fruitiness. The expression has a long, soft aftertaste that's heavy on the oak.

Bottled at 51% ABV, the release is limited to 3569 bottles with an MSRP of €129.00.
