Benromach's Contrasts range has been gaining traction as of late, and now we have the next iteration - Benromach Contrasts: Double Matured Bordeaux Wine Cask Finish.
"Initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks followed by further maturation in Bordeaux wine casks for five years, this release offers honey and floral aromas, forest fruits and toasted oak flavours, finishing with soft peat smoke."
The new expression was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 - a total of 12 years of maturation, at 46% ABV.
