Angel’s Envy has unveiled the sixth release in its Cellar Collection, marking a milestone for the series as its first expression to feature a dual-cask finish: ex-Peach Brandy and regular toasted.
Crafted by Master Distiller Owen Martin, the release blends straight rye whiskeys aged between eight and eleven years. A portion of the blend underwent a 15- to 23-month finish in peach brandy casks, while the remainder was matured for six to twelve months in toasted oak barrels.
The expression promises nose notes of ripe stone fruit, baking spice, vanilla, and oak. On the palate, it is said to have notes of peach, caramel, cinnamon, toasted oak, rye spice, and orchard fruit.
Bottled at 53.2% ABV, the Cellar Collection Volume 6: Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Peach Brandy & Toasted Oak Barrels has a release is limited to around 36,000 bottles, with each 750ml bottle boasting an MSRP of US$199.99.
It will be available nationwide in the US from Oct 9.
