Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has acquired a co-ownership stake in Sydney’s Archie Rose, backing the Rosebery, New South Wales based distillery as it expands into the US market.
Hemsworth will be co-owner alongside founder Will Edwards, who got Archie Rose off the ground in 2014.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Hemsworth’s star power is hoped to drive the brand’s growth as it debuts in the US through top drinks distributors, headlined by Reyes Beverage Group.
While Archie Rose is initially focusing its overseas launch exclusively on whiskies, a successful expansion could see its wider spirits portfolio follow shortly after.
