The Spirited Awards was founded in 2007, and is one of the spirt industry’s most sought-after awards. The Spirited Awards gives recognition to industry beverage professionals, drinks, establishments, writers, and media from each aspect of the international spirits and cocktail industry. 

Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOCF) has announced that this year, four different bars in Singapore were nominated across four categories in the 2022 Spirited Awards.

Let's take a look at the Singaporean nominees and their respective categories for this year's Spirited Awards!

Best International Bar Team

This award recognizes the best collection of talent working in an International and a U.S. bar today, including bartenders, barbacks, servers, and front of house. Eligible recipients may range from two dynamic bartenders who bring a unique, compelling chemistry to their small bar, to a larger team that orchestrates the theater of high-volume craft experience. Jigger & Pony at the Amara Hotel

Named after the double-coned measuring device used by bartenders to accurately pour out spirits, Jigger & Pony embraces the classics, the recipes for which used to be listed in “jiggers" and “ponies". With a brand new menu featuring 24 cocktails, Jigger & Pony presents fresh interpretations of classic cocktails, with its signature warm, convivial hospitality many have come to enjoy over the years.

Origin Bar at the Shangri-La Hotel 

Complementing its interior design that celebrates train travel, the concept at Origin Bar centres around a journey of discovery of the 6 key districts of Singapore, the hotel’s hometown: Orchard Road, Balestier, Chinatown, Little India, Boat Quay and Marina Bay. Inspired cocktails are hand-crafted by a team of young mixologists with a fierce passion for what they do. For instance, the cocktail inspired by Orchard Road traces its history as a plantation and, more importantly, references the original home of the Shangri-La brand.

Expect a medley of fruits, flowers and spices in the bouquet of your glass. The streets of Chinatown have motivated the team to create a beverage using traditional Chinese medicine ingredients and balancing Yin with Yang, while Balestier features rum-centric cocktails which aim to highlight the district’s origin as a sugarcane plantation.
