Onto the Next World, Mead, Marlobobo

Trying to make full use of my time in Norway and drink as many Marlobobos as I possibly can! Can't get enough. This one stood out due to its interesting list of adjuncts for a mead - cocoa nibs, vanilla and hazelnuts. Just like the other cherry meads, rich and fragrant cherries are prominent on the nose. Cherry pits even. Chocolates are also very present. However, this mead shines in its taste and finish. Following the oily thick cherries, the mead transitions into mild chocolates before finishing into a beautiful and lingering hazelnut. It was so prominent that I questioned if I ate any nuts prior to the mead. Think about the chocolately nuttiness of a ferrero rocher!! Vanilla and honey sweetness is present throughout the entire experience. Once again, not a very sweet mead for its style; Well balanced with some tartness and heat.

If I was nitpicking, the smell and taste is definitely not as refined as any of the BA versions, but that really is the beauty of barrels. This is still a beast of a drink on its own!
