Beer Reviews

Le Chevalier, Mead, Miel Nature

Wtf this is the definition of a surprise find. Was shopping for weekly groceries today and saw a locally made quebecois mead and figured that we had to try it. Had literally zero expectations for it until the pour. Pours a deep dark golden, which made us realise that this was an oak barrel aged mead. Nose has very subtle funk for a non-adjuncted mead, some floral honey notes and a slight tinge of metal. Definitely a sweeter mead, with notes of dark fruits, some woody tannins (after warming) and a dominating sweet honey. Almost more like an alcoholic honey than a mead if that makes any sense. Very full bodied with lingering sweetness and some booziness.

For 13 CAD, this was a STEAL. delicious.
