Hazy Pale by Left Handed Giant Brewing Co., ordered from Quality Drops Beer.
4.5% ABV Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado Hops Oats and Wheat on the malt bill
Tl;dr funky nose, typical palate, good for what it is.
Something is up with the bouquet of this beer: it’s not your usual Citra-driven hazy. There’s something else to it. Is it floral? Is it… weedy? Are there aromas (odours?) of overripe fruits in it? I couldn’t exactly place it, but it sat well with me.
On the palate you get what it says on the tin: there’s a bit of texture from the oats and wheat but it’s not enough to cover the thinness of the low ABV. That’s okay, you know what you signed up for.
Wouldn’t it be nice to sip pints of this at LHG’s brewpub in the summer and look out across the River Avon?
