STYLE: Porter aged in bourbon barrels with added maple and vanilla extract
Deep black pour. Low foam, but glistening syrupy lacing hints at what's to come. Bourbon and vanilla at the forefront of the nose, obviously. Strong woody heat from the barrel-ageing, with rich caramel sweetness and toasty malts. Long warming aftertaste of oak and chocolate, with minimal bitterness. Excellent example and one to be savoured slowly.
