I had this side by side with Windows Up back in January 2019 before Alpine started canning them and preferred the latter. It’s taken some years and the rest of Thirsty’s Alpine catalog but I finally came around to trying this again.

I’m glad I did! Contemporary IPAs in all their guises seem to be going for sheer sweetness on the nose and on the palate nowadays, but not so much Duet. This specimen was crisp and dry, with a bracing bitterness in the finish. Goes to show that IBU numbers only tell part of the story.

It may be time to order a six-pack of this for my fridge…!
