4 Pines Brewing Indian Summer Ale Torquay x Powderfinger - Trilloilogy

The next pick delivered the #1 track of the @triple_j #triplejhottest100 of 1999 and 2000 (not like it’s showing off or anything).

As Summer wraps up in Australia we thought we would pull out Odyssey Number Five by Powderfinger to see the season out with respect. Pairing with another classic, Summer Ale by 4 Pines Brewery. The easy warm weather sipper that's sure to please your mates at your next BBQ.

About the music:
The band called on producer Nick DiDia to join them again in the studio. As well as doing Internationalist, he'd also worked with acts like @pearljam and @stpband. He was able to help the band find the sound they were aiming for.

The big early singles 'These Days' and 'My Happiness' were less riff-heavy, surprising some of their long-term fans who accused the band of losing their rock edge. Both songs were massive hits though, taking out the #1 spots in the @triple_j Hottest 100's of 1999 and 2000. Looking back on Odyssey Number Five now, @bernardfanning says that those songs alone could be responsible for its success.

The album was also ranked at number 1 in the @triple_j Hottest 100 Australian Albums of All Time poll in 2011.

Some more about the beer:
Sure summer is great, but Summer in this can goes on forever. You get those perfect days when the heat is just right and you can enjoy long, lazy afternoons, soaking up the warmth from tropical reaches. Crisp & light in bitterness with aromas of passionfruit & honeydew, light in alcohol and body, but not at the expense of hop character. To be enjoyed now and long after the sun’s gone down.
